A slender product, rendered in a home setting at dusk

From CAD model to prototype-ready surface

From a SolidWorks model to a first prototype — engineered inside and out.

A product, carried from concept surfacing to prototype-ready CAD: internal structure, injection-moulded parts, the assembly that holds it together, and the renders that sold it — shown here as engineering and form exercises only.

The team

All projects are always team work. On this assignment, my role was to execute and refine the 2D design work of Promea's brilliant designer Albert-Jan van Dijk — translating it into efficient, well-built SolidWorks files for prototyping.

Engineering with Promea, executed in SolidWorks — with Lars van der Meer.
