Metals — Hive
The hive at scale — a small factory of cells
What if a metal 3D-print factory grew like a hive — one hexagonal cell at a time?
A future-factory vision for HP metals printing, made with the HP team. The idea was a hexagonal print cell that clusters into hives, stacks into towers and scales from a small shop to a full hall — autonomous material flow, with humans exactly where they matter.
Cell, hive, stack
The modular family
The hive — cells around a core

One hive, human scale

Stack ×18 — the tower

Small shop — 9, 18, 30 cells
Factory as machine
Flow, scale, energy
Flow & scale — human presence vs autonomous production

Powered on site — the hall under its own turbines

Annotated worlds
Power, data, materials — routed through the hive

The section — sorting, producing, recycling

Automated materials management

The elevation — a calm row of cells

Design architecture — progressive, rugged precision
All projects are always team work. In the team I drive the vision, project-manage, build the prototypes, make the presentations and C-suite pitches, and build energy towards and during the execution.
This project was designed in a team dynamic with Business, Engineering and Design team members such as Kai Halsinger and Wes Schalk.
