Home Printing

A trillion photos stay locked on people's phones every year.
The mission, set out by Ken Musgrave and the business team: unlock them with practical, inspiring photo- and home-print solutions.
Example — this compact photo-print, a pure and simple stone puck: warm materials and a calm glow replace the grey office box, with a touchscreen that turns a chore into a moment. From form-language studies through architecture options to refined concept renders.
Exploring the practical, daily, domestic chameleons of Print.
From return labels to cutting paper waste — in short, solutions that enhanced people's daily workflows. Worked through with the HP design team from sketch to render, the models, films and ideas travelled the world, presented in a “Print Vision for the Future” show.
The innovation potential at HP was real, and so were the ideas — miniaturisation, smarter customer-first business models. Despite the enthusiastic reactions, HP chose to focus on smart software solutions and its current print systems.
Telling stories with video
Blender concept film · 2022I love telling stories with video — spinning up a vision fast, something I can drop straight into a pitch. I built and rendered this one entirely in Blender, and imported Greg's AI artwork into the scene.
It's my vision for the Creators Studio: a Magic Inspiration Box. Full-colour prints, AI embedded — a piece of furniture for the office or the creator's studio, not a machine in the corner.
I prototype the spaces in Blender and let the sunlight flood in. And the soundtrack? At the time I was playing with the early AI-music generators — complete productions in a heartbeat. For me, these films tell a story a slideshow never could.

Concept story
All projects are always team work. In the team I drive the vision, project-manage, build the prototypes, make the presentations and C-suite pitches, and build energy towards and during the execution.
This project was designed in a team dynamic with Business, Engineering and Design team under the leadership of Ken Musgrave, across the HP design teams in Vancouver, Singapore and Boise.
